Integrated healthcare information system

Our healthcare information system is intended for managing and supporting all processes in any health facility. The system is being implemented in the healthcare system of the Republic of Srpska and it is one of the most complex and most important projects in this entity. The system enables collection and exchange of information from various health facilities into a single database.

Using our software solution creates the advantages that are primarily reflected in data security because data is stored in the IHIS Data Center that is built to the highest standards, with a high level of security, in order to fully protect the data. All healthcare data can be accessed by doctors, but also by patients, and overview of history of patient care is in one place. Without the technological and information systems, a large amount of data and information located in health facilities could not be monitored and managed properly. More efficient strategic decision-making relevant for the RS healthcare system will be enabled by connecting all institutions and facilities – the line ministry, the Fund, institutes, hospitals and health centers – and on the basis of unified data available to all of them.

Our Integrated Healthcare Information System was designed in line with the World Health Organization – WHO guidelines.

The IHIS software user interface is easy to navigate and data occupy a central place, which ensures better data transparency. Functionality is an advantage that provides medical institutions with an overview of all organizational activities and reports, and the ability to monitor business-related activities in order to achieve more successful work results. The operation is also enhanced by significant financial savings created by the use of our modern software solution in health organizations. IHIS accelerates the work process because the activities can be seen, completed and planned in one place without the unnecessary activities that were required before the introduction of the integrated information system into the healthcare system. With its development modules, IHIS connects all information systems into one unit.

Our software offers the possibility of creating a database of patients and simple keeping of all records of medical examinations and procedures. It automatically identifies all high-risk patients and immediately notifies clinical staff for preventive care. Using our software reduces waiting lists for some appointments and contributes to patient satisfaction. It is possible at any time to obtain an overview of the patient’s health record, including a history of examinations, diagnoses, referrals, treatments and results.

More adequate monitoring of patient’s medical condition will be enabled, all changes and progressions will be visible, in turn improving the quality of treatment.

In addition to reducing the walking of patients, the introduction of e-prescriptions and e-results will also lead to cost reduction due to abandoning the use of paper and other unnecessary actions in the work process.

With reduced burden of administrative work, medical personnel will have more room to devote to working with patients, that is, to provide a better health service and to have a more efficient communication with patients. The productivity of healthcare professionals will be increased. Waiting for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures will be reduced due to the introduction of transparent electronic waiting lists and introduction of integrated clinical pathways, which will lead to an increase in the number of services provided to patients at the primary level in a timely manner. The expected consequence is a lower number of hospitalizations and cost reduction in the hospital sector.

The insured will receive bills showing the services provided to them and their costs, which is significant both for the insured and for the Fund that will be able to control whether the insured was really provided with the services invoiced to the Fund etc. So, this will reduce the potential for abuse of services provided and invoiced.

It will be possible at any moment to monitor the consumption of medications, stock levels etc. which is, among other things, significant for planning and carrying out of procurement of medications and other devices, but also for control (stock management and optimization of procurement of medications and other medical devices). Now it happens that there is no particular medication in one hospital, while there is a stock in another. Software monitoring of medication consumption in real time will enable rapid redistribution of medications between the facilities in such situations. Also, software monitoring of dispensed medications will prevent the patient’s obtaining of one medication, and then being recommended another in a different facility which should not be used together with the first medication or which has the same effects. This will no longer be possible as all doctors at all levels will have insight into the medications the patient has used, which will reduce side effects and other adverse effects in treatment. In addition to benefits for patients, this will also generate savings by preventing prescriptions of unnecessary medications.

PHR application – offers the possibility of reviewing information such as: medical data, scheduled visits, vaccine terms, access logs, overview of all patient appointments, user interface changes

Android application – allows access to personal health data through a mobile application

The healthcare information system is organized under the principle of modules which can be easily added and modified, so that the process of modifying and upgrading the entire system is largely simplified. Each application module within the system serves for easy collection, recording and processing of patient information and monitoring their health records. MEDINIUS includes 15 modules:
e-Record
It was designed to enable automation of key business processes in health centers or private health facilities for the needs of family medicine practice. It contains complete medical documentation of the patient available to the family doctor in electronic form.

It was designed to facilitate the provision of services in the field of dental health care. The specificity of this software solution is that it provides a database of unique dental records for each patient and meets the needs of both dental clinics and smaller dental practices.

It provides IT support to healthcare professionals and business processes in specialist clinics with subspecialties. Unlike the e-Clinic module, it has an additional functionality of emergency patient admission to a hospital and scheduling elective patient admission.

My Record – PHR
PHR (Personal Health Record) enables patient’s insight into their basic medical data kept in the medical record within a facility. The patient has access through the web portal and the PHR android application.
